Tony’s Restaurant Copenhagen is truly a culinary haven! The options of dining seem endless and the variety of different types of restaurants and cafes make it a very interesting destination for food lovers. Whether Michelin-starred restaurants or bistros and cafés it really caters to all kinds of budgets and preferences.
One distinct restaurant that we visited is called Tony’s, a small New York / Italian style restaurant located directly by the water in Havnegade, a bit further down from Nyhavn. It is part of the Madklubben restaurant chain in Copenhagen which runs a variety of different eateries throughout the city, all known for their high-quality food at reasonable prices. Make sure to look out for those while visiting.
The menu offers a nice choice of different and simple Italian dishes such as Ravioli, Risotto or Tony’s signature dish – Spaghetti & Meatballs (which we had, and it was absolutely delicious!) – as well as juicy rib eye steaks, fried poultry or seafood. The Spaghetti is very recommendable and all the other non-noodle dishes looked great as well.
In total, the food is simple but good. Alongside you also have a nice range of different wines to accompany your dish as well as Italian beer. The restaurant is located in a raised basement where you can have a look into the kitchen, seeing the chefs cook while enjoying your meal. The style is simple but very cute and cosy. It is important to make a reservation before you go, which is by the way recommendable for any restaurant in Copenhagen. Overall, we really enjoyed eating at Tony’s and would recommend this restaurant for people visiting Copenhagen. Beautifully located, great food and wine will make a great dinner or lunch during your stay.
